OUR PAST EVENTS
MESSIAH HIGHLIGHTS 2019
Under the umbrella of the Morgan Valley Chamber Orchestra, the Morgan Valley Chamber Singers formed in 2019 to present the first-annual Morgan Valley Messiah. Under the direction of Emily Pfeifer, 85 singers of the newly-formed MVCS prepared highlights from Handel's masterwork and performed to a full house at the Morgan High School auditorium. For this event, the newly-formed MVCS collaborated with the Morgan Valley Chamber Orchestra, string quartet soloists Abby Beattie, Anne Elkins, Abigail Wilkinson, and Doug Ball, as well as with renowned vocal soloists Clara Hurtado-Lee, Aubrey Adams-McMillan, Brian Stucki and Rob Brant.
MESSIAH HIGHLIGHTS 2022
Due to COVID-19, Messiah performances in 2020 and 2021 were canceled. The Morgan Valley Chamber Singers were excited to resume their annual Messiah season in 2022 and expanded to two performances on December 17 and 19. Popular Utah soprano, Melissa Heath, was hired from outside the valley but the other three vocal soloists were local – Macey Quigley (mezzo-soprano), Cliff Sharp (tenor), and Bill Wiser (bass). String quartet soloists Abby Beattie, Anne Elkins, Jacquie Gentry, and Steven Farr accompanied the solos with harpsichord player Jessica Bennett. The newly-formed Morgan Valley Arts Council (morganvalleyarts.org) also became the official sponsor of this project and will continue to collaborate with the Morgan Valley Chamber Orchestra and the Morgan Valley Chamber Singers to bring choral masterworks to our community going forward.
